The U.S. DOE has a system of laboratories overseen by the United States Department of Energy (DOE) for scientific and technological research. The primary mission of the DOE national laboratories is to conduct research and development (R&D) addressing national priorities: energy and climate, the environment, national security, and health.

U.S. Department of Energy, International Nonproliferation Export Control Program (INECP)

The INECP works with partner countries in support of the Department of State Export Control and Related Border Security (EXBS) Program to stem proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and their delivery systems, as well as irresponsible transfers of conventional weapons, by assisting countries to establish effective strategic trade and border control systems that meet international standards.
